Mini Golf Course Project
Intro
In this project, my partner John and I had to collaborate with 2 people from another period and 2 others from another school to make a mini golf course for the Mall Of America in Minnesota. Firstly, we all had to design a course of our own that was 12,000 SQ ft in total. After picking the best one out of 6, we had to chose a theme. The course that was made by one of our partners from the other school named Josh. We also picked the theme of paintball out of our large generation of ideas.

Engineering Concepts learned/applied:
A gantt chart is a chart used for deadlines for items like parts, and can be used well in larger projects due to every group knowing what they should be doing and when they should have their thing finished instead of having miscommunication. In this project, we used a gantt chart to meet deadlines of certain things like parts. We used our gantt chart but not that well as we didn't meet all the deadlines but that was due to unreasonable deadlines. it could've been beneficial because if there were problems like files not loading, we would have time to fix them.
Teamwork, organization, work ethic, communication and team norms:
Our group worked well for the most, with everyone being respectful. Everyone did their holes and other things that were assigned to the them and nobody got annoyed when questions were asked. Everyone worked well with each other and worked hard for the most part. The theme was a big problem since nobody knew how to incorporate a paintball theme into a mini golf course which led to confusion and not 1st class products. Organization was good with our group for the most part. We also commented on our notebook and design to ask questions about the design (i.e how thick is this wall?). Communication could've been better as there were a few mistakes made. Due the the periods of teammates being in different times, this could've influenced much of the communication errors. Everyone followed team norms and those team norms helped us complete our project successfully (Professionalism, respect etc.).
Our Solution:
Our solution for Mall Of America's problem was better than others due to our group being the most professional by everyone doing their job. We also put in work to make our parts and drawing files which would help us get hired over others. Our presentations were also a lot more professional with us not making explanations were we didn't need to (i.e hole 7 -no explanation). We could've done better though by not using a theme like paintball which is hard to implement into a mini golf course.

Automata Project
Client: Automata Toys
Designer: Krishna S, Jake M
Target Consumer: Children between ages 5-12
Problem Statement: A manufacturer opened a competition to design an original hand-operated toy for it's U.S based market for girls and boys of ages 5-12.
Design Statement: Design a toy that includes a mechanical system that will produce realistic motion of a figure/object(s) resulting from the rotation of an axle. The motion results in the interaction or coordinated movement of at least two separate displayed objects.

Product Improvement
Client: Automoblox
Designers: Krishna S, John D
Problem Statement: Parts don't fit well together and are hard to take apart. Pressing on the top of the truck results in the whole toy bending and the connectors and rough and weak.
Product Statement: Parents expect a non-hazardous, strong item for their children to play with, and also learn things from those toys.
Design Statement: Design and test a modified version of the Automoblox truck to go into production as an improved product.
Constraints:
- Design quickly
- Parts should hold well together
- Should be easier to remove parts from other parts

Parts were made magnetic due to it fitting well a well as releasing well. Both parts are designed to go in all wholes of the Automoblox truck.
